Police Are Working Hard, 20 Suspects Arrested Over The Killing Of Popular LASU Student, Damoche

Lagos – Another student of the Lagos State University (LASU), simply identified as Kabiru, was on Sunday night allegedly killed by suspected cultists.

Sources said that Kabiru was shot dead at about 10:00 p.m. at Abeokuta St., Okokomaiko, Lagos.

A 400 level Banking and Finance student of the university and a musician, Damilola Damochie  was on Feb. 28 shot dead by suspected cultists at the institution's main gate.

The sources alleged that the killing of Kabiru was a reprisal to the murder of Damochie.

"There are three main cult groups in LASU. They are Eiye, Buccaneer and Black Axe. Eiye and Buccaneer have lost one member each. The war is between the two groups now.

"Members of on the cult groups were celebrating the death of the opposition group member in a hotel, when police arrested them,'' a source said.

Contacted, the Lagos State Police Spokesperson, DSP Ngozi Braide, confirmed the death of Kabiru, but did not say if he was a cult member.

Braide also confirmed that more than 20 persons have been arrested over the killing of Damochie.

She noted that the suspects were arrested at Beno Hotel, Isashi, Okokomaiko, Lagos, when the suspects were having a party.

"We are screening the suspects with a view to ascertaining their involvement in the killing of the student-musician. Anyone found to be involved will be prosecuted in court,'' Braide said.

NAN reports that Damoche was killed by two suspected cultists on a motorcycle, on Feb. 28 at LASU gate. (NAN)
