'Obasanjo Is Not A Demon And Expect More Politicians To Die In Plane Crashes' - Nigerian Prophet

Prophet/ Pastor Olusegun Emmanuel Olumegbon of the Redemption Church of Christ and Evangelical Mission, Abuja has prophesied that many prominent northern and south-south political players will die in air mishaps next year just as the Islamist sect, Boko Haram would strike again in the New Year.

According to the cleric, it can only be averted if Nigerians would fast and pray between seven and 14 days so that God will dissolve the bombs himself.

The preacher noted that the Goodluck/Sambo government has committed so many atrocities that even prostitution has taken over the country because members of the National Assembly continue to patronize them.
Olumegbon predicted that Boko Haram would bomb many crude oil pipelines, adding that two prominent traditional rulers and three great Nigerians would also die in 2013.

The prophet said that a part of the country will break out.
He urged Nigerians to listen to the former Head of States, General Yakubu Gowon and as well advise President Jonathan to focus on power generation so that Nigerians will love his government. "The Lord spoke to me seven days ago that the present government has committed so many sinful acts and that the reason there is prostitution in Nigeria is because most of themembers of Houses of Assembly and House of Representatives are very corrupt.

He said: "The Lord said that President Goodluck Jonathan should fight more against the Boko Haram issue. The Lord has sent an ark of angels to protect him.

Though his regime cannot eliminate Boko Haram completely, he should make a great mark.

"A Bible will be handed over to the president in the dream, says the Lord, signifying power over Boko Haram. They will all be revealed here in Nigeria and abroad.
"Governor Rauf Aregbesola should not allowthe gods of Osun to penetrate the white spirit that God gave him.

"Again, I saw a vision of a plane crash and it involved some prominent people from the North and South-South. The mother of a prominent governor will pass on. I saw two Obas and three prominent men pass on before March 2013. It could be averted through prayer. "The Lord showed me a powerful Babylonian Kingdom which collapsed. 2013 will be the greatest and remarkable year because many lecturers in universities would be exposed and sacked.

Parents, please stand firm to fight for your children's freedom in the universities.
"Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is not a demon. The Lord showed him to me as a chosen person and people should respect and support him. He has more things to do for this nation," he said.

"The Lord sent me to Ebenezer Obey that he should go back to full time evangelism. Please, stop public function and concentrate on full time ministration because the time is very short he said.

Gov. Rochas Orders Security To Beat-Up Senator Anyanwu For Using Siren

Senator Chris Anyanwu yesterday accused Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha of ordering his security detail to attack her convoy and beat up her security men.

Wednesday's convoy clash was the height of the personality clash between the two public officials both of whom were elected on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

But Okorocha's spokesman Ebere Uzoukwa denied the claims by the senator.
He said the senator breached protocol by using a siren, which has been banned in the state.

"The senator's vehicle suddenly rammed into the governor's convoy close to the staff car, cutting off the lead security vehicle after overtaking
dangerously and in a very suspicious manner," Uzoukwa said.

But, Senator Anyanwu recounts the incident in Owerri, the Imo State capital. She described the governor's security men's action as "frightening"
and "brutish", adding that she had been threatened in the past at several occasions in the state.

Giving a graphic detail of the clash between her convoy and the governor's security men, Senator
Anyanwu said: "My day started around 9.30am when I visited the governor at the Government House on Tuesday to exchange pleasantries and he asked if I had adequate security and I said "yes" after which I left for my home town, Mbaise."

"When we got to Azara Egbelu, we heard siren coming behind us and when it grew louder, we
parked (our vehicles) to allow the convoy way to pass. But, surprisingly, the approaching convoy which comprised of truck loads of armed and stern looking men double crossed us and pulled out two of my drivers dragging them into the bush where they were mercilessly beaten and left with broken skull and bruises.

"When I could not bear it any more, I rushed out of my car barefooted and started shouting: "I am Senator Chris Anynawu please don't kill my driver, but one of the armed men charged at me and threatened to shoot me for running into the governor's convoy. All these while, the Governor was seated in his car with the glass wound down and I heard him shout at his security men to disarm my orderlies".

Mrs. Anywanwu described the Governor's action as "a misplaced show of power. The power of the
state is so enormous and you don't need to intimidate, harass or kill your people to assert your powers as a governor.

"I am tired of all these abuses and harassment in this state. It is not only in Imo State that they have female legislators. If they could do this to
me, what will happen to the ordinary people, this has to stop".

The governor's spokesman insisted that Senator Anyanwu breached security, adding that her outburst of anger could have resulted in a heavy
casualty if not for the discipline of the governor's security men who displayed a high sense of decency, professionalism and maturity.

"Surprisingly, Senator Anyanwu, who no doubt knew the convoy was that of the governor of Imo State, alighted from her car and ordered her Naval security personnel to open fire. The
Senator slapped both the governor's Aide Camp and Chief Detail. She also rained abuses on the governor," Uzoukwa said.

Sources in the state said there had been no love lost between the governor and the senator because of the perceived interest of the senator
in contesting for governor.

How ex-President Obasanjo’s Abeokuta House Was Gutted By Fire

The Abeokuta palatial home of ex-President Obasanjo.
Men of the fire service responded promptly to the distress call.
Barely 20 minutes after Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria's former President left his Abeokuta Hilltop Mansion residence on Thursday, fire engulfed the building.

The house located in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, was gutted by fire on Thursday with extensive damages recorded in the 30-minute incident
The fire, which started at about 4.25 p.m., was traced to electricity power surge, just barely about 20 minutes after Mr. Obasanjo left for his other house located in the Ita-Eko area of the town.

PREMIUM TIMES gathered that the fire started from Mr. Obasanjo's private office, a stone throw to his bedroom, before the security in the premises raised alarm, and the state fire service
was contacted.

The fire service, in a swift response, raced to the scene with two fire fighting vehicles, to curtail the fire, which would have spread to other
apartments. However, a number of valuables were consumed by the fire.

No life was lost, but some damaged property were seen being moved out by men of the fire service and officers of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC).

As at the time of this report, Mr. Obasanjo had returned home, apparently to see the extent of the damage. His wife, Bola Obasanjo, was seen outside in company of some grandchildren looking worried.

On his part, Mr. Obasanjo, after the fire had been put under control, was seen sitting within the premises receiving telephone calls from sympathizers.

However, one of his sons, identified as Oba Obasanjo, threw caution to the wind, as he seized the Blackberry phone of PREMIUM TIMES correspondent and smashed it on the floor for taking photographs.
Symphatisers that thronged the home of the former President include the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye; a factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Dipo Odujinrin; and the state's Director of State Security Services.

Ironically, an hour after the fire incident was brought under control, the officials of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, arrived in two pick-up vans loaded with ladders.
The former President is expected to address journalists on the cause of the fire.

Located along the Ibrahim Babangida Boulevard in Abeokuta, the multi millionaire villa, made up of about six structures, was completed shortly before Mr. Obasanjo left office in 2007. It was constructed by Messrs Gitto Construzioni Generali Nigeria Limited, an Abuja-based Italian company.

It was built atop a hill, some critics said, to give the former president the psychological feeling of being on top of everyone.

President Jonathan's Yuletide Message To Nigerians

Dear friends,
I want to seize this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance.

I feel the pains of Nigerians and that is why this yuletide period I have personally instructed that our roads should be worked on to enable you and your loved ones travel safely for the holidays knowing that this season brings with it the highest volume of traveler traffic of the year.

This administration also made sure that most of our airports received a facelift with the terminals rehabilitated and the runways upgraded.

Not done, we ensured that for the first time in decades, the cross country services (Lagos to Kano with stops in cities along the route) of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) were revived just prior to the holidays to provide Nigerian masses with an inexpensive alternative to road and air transportation.

Nigerians traveled on these coaches which took them from Lagos to Kano beginning on Friday the 21st of December, 2012 at a very affordable
rate of 1,500 Naira, with stops at many cities along the route.

This administration also took steps to increase power generation by remaining true to the Timelines of the Roadmap to Power Sector Reforms which has seen history made on Friday
the 21st of December 2012, when Nigeria's power generation hit an all time high of just over 4,500 MW which I know is still not good enough,
but which nevertheless is an improvement of what we met on ground to the end that as many
Nigerians as possible can celebrate the holidays with power in our homes and communities.

I reaffirm to you that, God willing, Nigeria will witness a better year in the coming year.
Once again, on behalf of my family and I and the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, wishes every Nigerian a very Merry Christmas and a most prosperous and Happy New Year.

SSS Nabs Ngozi OkonjoIweala’s Mum's Abductors InBank, Suspects Arrested WithN15m Marked Money Out ofThe Ransom Paid

Operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) have arrested six of the abductors of Prof. Keneme Okonjo, mother of the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance,
Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala. Prof. Chukwuka Okonjo was kidnapped on December 9, 2012 at the palace of the traditional ruler.

The victim was released on December 14. But in a bid to unravel those behind the kidnapping, arrests were made by the police, Army and men
of the SSS.
A competent source at the SSS told National Mirror yesterday [Dec. 24] that six of the real suspects had eventually been arrested in Asaba,
Delta State, and might be flown to Abuja today.

The source also confirmed that N40m ransom was actually paid for the release of the 82-year-old retired professor of Sociology.
"The N40m, which was paid to the kidnappers, was marked money from the Central Bank of Nigeria. "What happened was that the money was paid on Wednesday by our men and by Thursday, two persons had gone to the Nebisi Road branch of an old generation bank to deposit N15m out of the money.

Because it was marked money, they were promptly arrested. "Our men were able to track four of the kidnappers with the aid of the two
persons. Right now, we are on the trail of the remaining four suspects.
"The six suspects are supposed to be brought to Abuja tomorrow (today) to face further interrogation".

Asked why the operatives were not able to arrest the suspects the time they came for the money, the source explained: "Don't forget that as at
that time the woman was still with the
kidnappers and they could decide to kill her if they suspect anything phony". "Our major concern then was to ensure that the woman regained her freedom and was not harmed in
any way" In fact, that was the point the minister kept hammering to us.

"She said that we should do everything possible to secure her mother alive, even if it meant paying whatever ransom the kidnappers asked for. "If you know how this is done, once they came for the money, we knew that the game was up for them. We knew that we must get them unless they would not spend
that money in Nigeria".

Okonjo-Iweala had shortly after her mother release said that the abductors were unhappy with the administration of the fuel subsidy and
SURE-P programmes.

LASTMA Men Beat Bus Driver to Death

A commercial bus driver, Isaac Popoola, on Monday died after being allegedly assaulted by two officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority in the Oshodi area of the
state.

The bus conductor, Aremu Salawu, who witnessed the incident, said the LASTMA officials, Adesanya Olatunde and Oludele Ogunrinde, assaulted Popoola at about 6.30am around Brown Bus Stop resulting in his death.

He said the deceased's bus with number plate, XL166SNK, conveying 17 passengers from Igando/Isheri was approaching Brown Junction when a LASTMA pick-up van crossed the bus.

The leader of the LASTMA officials, according to Salawu, ordered two of his men to impound the vehicle and take it to the agency's office.
Salawu, who narrated the incident to one of our correspondents on the premises of the police Area F Command, alleged that Olatunde hit
Salawu's head against the steering and the door frame of the bus many times before he died.

He said Popoola, 54, was tussling for the steering with the LASTMA official, who resorted 7to using the metallic head of the seat belt to hit the driver's head in an attempt to forcibly take over the bus.

Salawu said, "Baba (Popoola) held on to the steering asking what his offence was. But the LASTMA man (Olatunde) said it was his commander that ordered him to seize the bus.

"When Baba refused to leave the steering, the LASTMA man started hitting Popoola's head against the steering and the door frame. He did
this so many times, until he was unable to talk again.

"I then rushed to Mosafejo Police Station where I made a statement and people who were watching the scenario were able to apprehend one of the LASTMA men (Olatunde). They
brought him to the police station before we were transferred to to Area F.

"They did not tell him (driver) what his offence was because no passenger alighted from our bus at a wrong point and he used his seat belt."
As at 4pm when one of our correspondents left the Area F Command, Salawu's body was still
lying in the bus.

It was observed that there were no bruises on the head of the deceased.
The 50-year-old wife of the deceased, Modupe, and his son, Ibukunoluwa, a graduate of Accounting from the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, along with other sympathisers were also on the premises of the command Ibukunoluwa, who spoke with one of our correspondents, said he had just graduated and awaiting his call-up for the A Batch of the
National Youth Service Corps in February 2013.

He said his father left their house at 16, Ojo Ogundana Crescent, Off Jimoh Akinremi, Jimoh Bus Stop, Akowonjo, early in the morning of Monday.
"I can't believe I don't have a father again. My father left home very early this morning, only for us to be informed by his mechanic few hours
later that he had died," Ibukunoluwa said.

The management of LASTMA has however dissociated itself from the incident.
A statement signed by the General Manager of the agency, Babatunde Edu, stated the errant officials acted contrary to the agency's operational guidelines.
Edu said Olatunde was identified by the agency's Provost Marshall and handed over to the police while Ogunrinde who was reported to be off duty as at the time of the incident was still at large.

He stated that the officials were in the area to carry out illegal operation.
"The arrested suspect (Olatunde) has been handed over to Mosafejo Police Station and eventually transferred to Akinpelu Police Station for further investigation; while effort is on to
arrest other suspect (Ogunrinde)," Edu said.

Passenger Arrested With N71m At Lagos Airport

The Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA Command of the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, on Monday arrested a passenger, Mr Ikebude Akoma, with $456,000 (N71,660,400) during the outward clearance of passengers of Qatar Airways flight to China en route Doha.

The Public Relations Officer of the Airport Command of Nigeria Customs Service, Mrs Thelma Williams while reacting to the arrest said that the passenger was apprehended for not
being able to explain to the Customs authorities the source of the foreign currency with either bureau de change or bank slip which was a prerequisite for a proper documentation of the currency.

According to Mrs Williams, the passenger with the passport number A04073478, was arrested at the 'E' wing section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport screening hall from where he was interrogated by officials on duty before being handed over the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

She noted that the passenger was guilty of the law for his inability to convince relevant authorities over the source of the money as well as his defiance of rules concerning the movement of huge sum of foreign currency outside the country.

"During the outward clearance of Qatar Airways flight to China via Doha, our officials reported that one passenger identified as Ikebude Akome with passport number A04073478 declared $456,000 at E Wing screening hall of the Lagos Airport," Williams said.
"On further investigation, it was discovered that the passenger had no proper document like the bureau de change or bank slip." she added.

Williams, however, pointed out that the passenger had been handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for further investigations and necessary actions.

9ice Reacts to Romance Storywith Babcock Varsity Babe

Multiple awards-winning artiste, Adegbola Abolore Akande, a.k.a. 9ice who has been enmeshed in a controversial relationship with his friend's girlfriend, one Funmi Omotosho, an
undergraduate of Babcock University, Ilisan- Remo, Ogun state is not finding the story funny at all. Naturally, the singer, who claims he doesn't like to respond to unfounded news, said he was prevailed upon by his close aides to set the record straight on the allegation, instead of allowing falsehood to thrive.

According to some people in the know, Funmi Omotosho and her boyfriend are friends to 9ice and they have all found the publication misleading and embarrassing as well.
Reacting to the report however, 9ice explained;
"I attended Funmi's birthday not quite long which also had her boyfriend in attendance. Sincerely, I can't fathom where the whole story is coming from but I know that the mischief makers are at it again". With 9ice's outburst, it proves that the false romance story is just a hint of marred journalism and there is no iota of truth in it. There are no strings attached between both parties, just an appearance at her party.

Pastor Chris pleaded no wrongdoing and the case was eventually dismissed. His church, Christ Embassy, boasts more than 40,000 members, several of whom are successful business executives and politicians. Oyakhilome's diversified interests include newspapers, magazines, a local television station, a record label, satellite TV, hotels and extensive real estate. T.B Joshua heads the Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN), a congregation he founded in 1987, which accommodates over 15,000 worshippers on Sundays. The Pastor has remained controversial for several years for his inexplicable powers to heal all sorts of incurable diseases, including HIV/AIDS, cancer and paralysis. For miracle-craving worshippers, it's the perfect seduction. The church currently has branches in Ghana, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Greece. In 2009, the church posted profits of close to $10 million and assets worth $40 million. Ashimolowo earns an annual salary of $200,000, but his real wealth comes from varied business interests including his media company, Matthew Ashimolowo media, which churns out Christian literature and documentaries. Ashimolowo's representatives did not respond to a request confirming his net worth and ownership of all these assets.

Pastor Okotie made his first success as a popular pop musician in the 80s. His 5,000 member church consists predominantly of Nollywood celebrities, musicians, and society people. He contested and lost Nigerian presidential elections for the third time this year under the Fresh Party, a political party he founded and funds. Full Story: Principal Arrested For Conducting Virginity Tests on Pupils

Principal, Ajuwon Senior High School, Ajuwon, Ifo Local Government Area, Ogun State, Rev. Olufunke Oladeojobi, has been quizzed by the police for allegedly conducting virginity tests on the pupils.
Oladeojobi, who was described as a strict disciplinarian, by her pupils called in a nurse and jointly carried out virginity tests on a group of 10 students last week Monday.

It was further learnt that the principal did not seek the consent of the parents/guardians of the pupils before conducting the test on Senior Secondary School 1 pupils.
During the test, it was alleged that the principal and the nurse whose name could not be ascertained allegedly dipped their fingers into the pupils' private parts.

After the exercise, which took place at the principal's office, each of the pupils was given an exercise book.

A 15-year-old pupil, who identified herself simply as Ayo, said the principal came into the classroom on the day and announced that all female SSS 1 pupils should converge on the assembly ground.
She said the principal subsequently asked that those who had yet to lose their virginity should stand apart.

Ayo said, "We are over 600 in SSS 1 but only about 300 of us are females. Those of us that are virgins are 38 and we were matched into the principal's office with the assistance of members of staff.

"They subsequently divided us into three groups of 10, 15 and 13 and I was in the second group. The principal later addressed us and threatened that any pupil who fails the test would have her name written in the school's black book and would be suspended."

Ayo said she became apprehensive when everyone who emerged from the office where the test was being carried out came out with a sad and disgusting look.

She said, "When my class captain emerged from the room, I asked her why anyone that came out of the office looked depressed? I was held spell bound when she told me that the principal and the nurse dipped their fingers in turns into their private parts, adding that she had started bleeding as a result of the penetration.

"Just as I was asking further questions from her, the principal dashed out of her office and announced that she had discovered one student who had lost her virginity out of the 10 students that were examined.

"She wrote her name on one of the notice boards in her office and ordered the rest of us to return to our various classes. Two of my friends who had similar experiences burst into tears as they narrated what happened."

Thirteen-year-old SSS I pupil of the school, identified simply as Ujunwa,   said the principal was happy  that she was able to "catch a promiscuous pupil" as she felt proud to discuss it on the assembly ground the next day.

She, however, added that her joyous moments was soon short-lived when the parents of the 10 pupils stormed the school in protest against the development.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the pupils rebelled against Oladeojobi last Wednesday as they did a sit-in on the assembly ground protesting and demanding that she should be redeployed from the school.
It was gathered that it was the teachers' intervention that calmed the pupils.

Ujunwa said, "The parents of the girl that was said to have lost her virginity who happens to be a member of the Press Club and the other nine parents besieged the school last Tuesday and Wednesday and queried our principal for conducting such an unauthorised test on their children.
"The parents then came with policemen attached to the Ajuwon Police Division where they had reported the incident on Thursday and arrested our principal."

When our correspondent visited the school on Tuesday, the school had closed for the term while Oladeojobi's office was shut. Her telephone rang out while a text message sent to her phone was not responded to.

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer of Ajuwon Division, Mr. Waheed Yusuf, a Chief Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
He said the investigation into the matter was still "ongoing" and declined further comment until "investigations were concluded."

But, a policeman attached to the station who spoke on the condition of anonymity said Oladeojobi owned up to the incident.

He said, "She confessed that she conducted virginity tests on the pupils and that 'she was trying to help them.' We took her in for questioning on Thursday and Friday but she was not detained as my superiors were taking into consideration that she is a civil servant.

"We might have some problems if she (Oladeojobi) is to be charged to court for sexual assault because the matter was reported to the police late and no medical examination was immediately done on the affected pupils to use as a proof in the law court."

Exclusive: Instagram Will Soon Be Selling Users' Photos To Advertisers

Facebook's photo-sharing site Instagram has updated its privacy policy giving it the right to sell users' photos to advertisers without notification.

Unless users delete their Instagram accounts by a deadline of 16 January, they cannot opt out.

The changes also mean Instagram can share information about its users with Facebook, its parent company, as well as other affiliates and advertisers.

The move riled social media users, with one likening it to a "suicide note".

The new policies follow Facebook's record $1bn (£616m; 758 euro) acquisition of Instagram in April.

Facebook's vice-president of global marketing solutions Carolyn Everson earlier this month had said: "Eventually we'll figure out a way to monetise Instagram."

A notice updating the privacy policy on the Instagram site said: "We may share your information as well as information from tools like cookies, log files, and device identifiers and location data with organisations that help us provide the service to you... (and) third-party advertising partners."

"To help us deliver interesting paid or sponsored content or promotions, you agree that a business may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you," it said in its terms of use.

But Instagram said that its aim was to make it easier to work with Facebook.

"This means we can do things like fight spam more effectively, detect system and reliability problems more quickly, and build better features for everyone by understanding how Instagram is used," it said in a statement.

'Suicide note'

However, the updated policy will not change how it handles photo ownership or who is able to see a user's pictures, it added.

But the new policy has triggered a backlash among social media users, with some threatening to quit.

One user tweeted: "Good bye #instagram. Your new terms of service are totally stupid and nonsense. Good luck playing with the big boys."

New York-based photographer Clayton Cubbit wrote on his account that the new policy was "Instagram's suicide note".

Analysts said that the new policies could deal a blow to Facebook's reputation and alienate some users.

Richard Holway, chairman of TechMarketView, said: "Every time Facebook has altered their privacy policy it has led to a backlash and they've been forced to retreat. They tamper with people's privacy at a cost. People are very upset."

Alan Pelz-Sharpe, research director at 451 Research, added: "It's a barefaced tactic that Facebook and Instagram have taken, and one that will likely meet with many challenges, legally and ethically.

"The fact is that Facebook has critical mass, and is quite confident that such moves may cause uproar, but not a flight of business.

"Larger firms like Facebook are essentially trailblazing before specific regulations can catch up with them, and as we have seen with Google in the past, regulations and laws have limited real impact on their business operations - so they tend to move forward regardless of opposition."

Instagram was bought by Facebook in April 2012
